快樂向前飛 / 這是一個關於台北市萬華國中公共藝術的園地

「快樂向前飛—希望之虹」作品說明：

有一群  快樂鳥，

它們將要乘著  夢之帆，

跨越  希望之虹，

去尋找傳說中的  智慧之樹，

因為聽說吃了樹上的智慧之果，將會得到想要的願望……。

愛爾蘭神話中，富有的精靈(leprechaun)將寶藏埋藏於彩虹的盡頭，若想要拿到leprechaun埋藏的黃金，就要尋找彩虹一頭的開端。 尋尋覓覓寶藏近在咫尺，智慧就是寶藏，校園是彩虹的盡頭，也是個美好的開端與看見希望的彼岸。

馬賽克(MOSAIC)在希臘代表"沈靜耐心的"，運用鑲嵌細工技法表現出耐心的過程暗喻著學生孜孜不倦的學習與茁壯。 同時在成長的過程中歡樂的尋找希望展翅飛翔，在彩虹的盡頭沈靜了一千多天的光景累積出未來的光輝照亮出自己未來的道路。

Artist's Interpretation:

    There is a flock of Joyful Birds

    Taking flight with the Sails of Dreams,

    Crossing the Rainbows of Hope,

    They are searching for the legendary Trees of Wisdom, for

    It is said that all wishes shall be granted

    As long as one tastes the Fruit of Wisdom on the Trees...

In Irish mythology, Leprechaun, the spirit of wealth, hid treasures at the end of rainbows.  People who wish to find the gold hidden by Leprechaun must search for the beginning end of the rainbows.  While seeking and searching, people will find that these treasures are just at hand, that wisdom is the immense treasure.  The campus is the end of the rainbows, it is the beginning of a beautiful quest, and it is the shore of destination where one sees all hopes. 

The origin of “Mosaic” derives from ancient Greek, meaning “place holy to the Muses” and thus it symbolizes “calming patience.” The artist employs delicate techniques of mosaic embedding to express a procedure that requires such patience.  Hence, this work of art becomes a metaphor that signifies the students’ constant learning and growing.  During their growth, they will spread their wings and search for hopes with delight.  At the end of the rainbows, they shall find that, with the glamour they have cultivated for themselves during the thousand days of musing and studying, they will be able to light up their own paths to a shining future.
