查字典rap 的定義：當作動詞時是有扣擊、敲擊、拍擊的意思，另外的含意是拿東西敲擊堅硬的表面，或用力打擊某樣東西。當作名詞時，則是扣擊(聲)、敲擊(聲)、拍擊 (聲)。

所謂rap music(饒舌音樂)的定義又是什麼？饒舌音樂(rap music)是嘻哈音樂(Hip hop music)中的一種音樂形態，rap music其實是rapid music的簡寫，rapid常簡作rap，字典上說：Rap music is a type of popular music in which words are spoken rapidly and rhythmically over an instrumental backing.

最早rap的出現是來自社會低層的黑人宣洩苦悶的方法，反叛、對抗現實社會的不合裡，於是他們用音樂當做武器裝備自己，這就是rap music的起源。

外語學會的Christiana 老師昨天在臉書上分享了一段視訊 Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?  
她說：「Black Eyed Peas有幾條歌都蠻適合教國中生，我選過的歌，就不用擔心裡面有些有的沒的字眼， 曲又好聽，保證學生喜歡，馬上成為愛上英文歌的孩子。」
