 Dear Friends,

As you might have heard, our friend and tabla player Waka came back  from India and got very sick. He has been in hospital for 2 weeks now  with 24/7 cares from his family, friends and doctors/nurses. He is still  weak but his health condition is getting better now, which is a very  good news.

However, as a nomad tabla player, 100% devoted to his instrument, Waka doesn't have health insurance to cover his medical care. To help him so he can worry less about money and care more about his  recovery and be strong and healthy again, we decided to have one night  of music & friendship at SAPPHO on Tuesday, April 29 to collect money  for Waka.

It will be NO COVER CHARGE, we will just put a donation box in which  everyone can give what he wants. So, you are more than welcome to come  over to give some support or to simply enjoy the music.

為日本朋友WAKA募款!

WAKA(若池敏弘)與YO(金光亮平)兩位日本朋友，是鑽研印度樂器多年的老師，目前旅居台灣。最近，西瓦印度舞團與兩位老師，受邀合作表演KATHAK(卡薩克)印度古典音樂舞蹈。

但是，就在這個月初，WAKA老師從印度表演回台就病倒了。雖然這次因此只有YO老師與我們合作，但我們仍希望，未來有機會與WAKA老師，這一位優秀的TABLE(塔布拉)鼓手同台表演。

WAKA老師住院至今兩個星期，台灣的一群藝術家，為了不想讓WAKA老師在經濟與心裡有很大的壓力，所以舉行一場募款音樂會。你可以到現場聽聽音樂，表達致意。也可以給這位旅居台灣的日本朋友一些實質支持!

WAKA自1987年開始學習TABLE(塔布拉)，至今二十年，曾與多位西方音樂創作者合作許多音樂創作，並於日本及印度舉辦過無數的個人演奏會，受邀於巴西、日本、印度等國際音樂藝術節演出。曾與李泰祥、吳書齊...等國內表演藝術家與團體合作演出。
