Dec.22nd 2009, Day 1: Leaving for Cancun, Mexico

Our flight at 6:45pm was delayed to 7:00pm.

Before we got on the plane, they announced that the plane was out of water. So, we were switched to another plane, and delayed until 7:40pm

Finally, we got on the new plane at 8:00pm, all the luggage was switched onto the new plane, and we were ready to take off...

Unfortunately, the pilot announced that the engine check light was on. That meant they would have to go back to the gate to fix the engine. So we didn't leave until 9:30pm.Ugh!

Anyway, we finally arrived at the Cancun airport at 1:30 am est, instead of 10:45 pm, which was when we were originally supposed to get there.

Then Daddy couldn't find our luggage and was told that our luggage got lost somewhere during the plane switch if it wasn't one of the ones in the pile next to us. At first, we didn't see it there, but then Mommy found it with a few others far behind us. Luckily she found it, or it could have gotten stolen!

We checked in at our hotel room at 3:30am.We were tired, but also ecstatic. How could it be this warm on a winter night? Impossible! But we eventually calmed down and went to bed.

What a day!!!

Dec.23rd 2009, Day 2

We woke up, walked out the back door of the hotel, and came to the hotel's private beach.

Wow!! Thats beautiful!!

We also looked around our fancy hotel.

These pictures of the lobby were taken right in front of our room.

A grand entrance to a fine hotel!

We all relax in the lobby's funky chairs.

Horses! Mommy's zodiac animal. We don't usually see statues of those!

At night, we visit a small area full of resturants and stores(and people!).

It's the Grinch! The evil story character who tried to steal Christmas!

Here is the gingerbread house the workers at the hotel made, with real gingerbread and candy!

December 24, 2009: Day 3

In the morning we when to a small town in Cancun to eat breakfast.

After eating yummy breakfast and doing lots of walking, we stop at an area with people selling Mexican food.

We decided to try a tamlet, which tasted like spicy mashed potato with chicken.

Oooh look! the ice cream man!

As you probably know, both of us play string instruments, "S" plays the violin and "s" plays the viola. We enjoy playing pieces together, accompanying each other and somtimes we even have fun in criticizing or competing against each other.... We have  been in Young Artists Orchestra since September, 2008. Every Friday night we have a rehearsal for 2 hours with the orchestra.  Now it's time for our annual winter concert. Come to join us...

The concert was held at Union League which is a beautiful historical building, located in the heart of center city-Philly. When we arrived there, we were so amused by the outlook of the building that we forgot to take a picture.

First we warmed up in the waiting room and got the instruments tuned.

Then we went to the Ladies Room to wash hands, fix hair and...pee. Here is the resting corner in the ladies room.

Then our conducter-Sarah gave us a lecture before the performance

All members  got on the stage and.... ready to go!!

Shh..shh...be quiet, calm and focus, we are playing Mozart and Bach for you.

We both are so tiny, can you find us? Where is "S" or "s"??

Sunny's school teacher-Mrs. Landis and her husband also came to support the concert!! What a wonderful and nice hearted young couple. Their coming means a lot to Sunny and Sanya.

At the end, a big "thank-you" to our wonderful teacher- Sarah who gives us private lessons and conducts for the Young Artists orchestra.

Mommy is a terrible cook. Every night the food she put on the dining table is Yucky! We decided to learn how to cook and started making some yummy food for ourself. First lesson is to learn how to bake. Baking is easy and fun. We love beating flour with eggs and oil, it's like doing arts and crafts,or playing with clay. We made several cupcakes and one big pound cake.

Put them into oven at 350 F for 40 minutes, then they come out in this beautiful golden color.

Let's put some icing on the top of cake and make a cup of aromatic English tea....Mmmm...enjoy a relaxing late night tea time...

You want some?? Come to my home, and we'll make some cake for you!!

The biggest Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.  (photo by Sunny)

Even though visitors are still as packed as before in the center, the tree decoration looks quiet simple and plain for this year-2008.. just wondering if the budget for Christmas tree got cut as well due to the bad economy?!

 (photo from web)

Rockefeller Center is an art deco marvel consisting of 19 commercial buildings covering 11 acres in midtown Manhattan from 49th to 52nd Streets, Fifth to Seventh Avenues. Named after the multi-millionaire, John D. Rockefeller, who leased the space from Columbia University in 1928.

The tree shining at night! Lights flying around you.. around me! (photo by Sanya)

Kiss you all!! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!!
