13. To make Domestic Soap using Recycle Oil

a)      1000cc Recycle Oil

390cc Water

145gm NaOH

1Tbsp Salt

1Tbsp Sugar

2Tbsp Plain Flour

b)      Salt is added to reduce alkalinity.

c)      Sugar is added for moisturising effect.

d)      Plain Flour is added as a thickening agent.

e)      Pour into mould.

f)        Keep in cool place for 24 hours.

g)      Cut into size and let to mature for 2 weeks.

h)      Either use as soap or grate into powder and dissolve in 50 part water as a strong cleaning agent.  Good for soaking very dirty items overnight to make washing easier.

 

14.Soap for Cleansing Face

Standard Formula:

 

Oil Type	Percentage
Hard Oil	40%
Olive Oil	40%
Combination of any Preferred Oil	20%

 

1.          Use 2.0 as the Water Multiple.

15.Hair Soap for different Hair Types

For Hair Cleansing Soap, to increase cleansing power in the soap after 30% of Coconut Oil has been added, Castor Oil (篦蔴油) can be used.

 

Hair Type	Cleansing	Other Oil
Oily	More Coconut Less Castor	Mix other oils to ensure Total INS Value falls between 130 and 160. Select those that are good for Hair Protection.
Normal	Equal portion Coconut/Castor
Dry	Less Coconut More Castor

As Castor Oil has a low INS Value, it is often used in conjunction with a reasonable quantity of Coconut Oil.  Castor Oil’s softness also makes unmolding very difficult if 20% or more is used.  Use empty milk cartons instead of the normal Tupperware box.

 

Jojoba Oil, which is not an oil technically, it is Jojoba wax in liquid form, possesses the closest resemblance to natural body oil produced by the human body and is great for washing hair.

 

The following Essential Oil/Extracts are good for Hair Protection:

Cassia	肉桂	0.5% to 1%
Cinnamon Leaf	肉桂葉	0.5% to 1%
Basil	羅勒	3%
Anise Seed	迷迭香	3%
Chamomile	洋甘菊	3%

 

N.B. Careful, NOT good for skin, do not add too much.
