People’s Buddhism Study Society was founded in 1982. It’s guiding principles were to promote the Buddhism religion, improve education and advance social welfare. The society aimed to extol and obey the teachings of Buddha, and share his pearls of wisdom with all followers and devotees.

Since it’s inception, the society has organized various activities related to Buddhism such as forums and talks about Buddhism, Buddhism study classes, Meditation camps etc. Also, over the years, many esteemed Reverends, Buddhism scholars and practitioners have been invited to partake in grand Public Talks.

In addition, People’s Buddhism Study Society has also been running many educational activities such as study classes for Children and Teenagers, Chinese Calligraphy lessons, Yoga classes and Meditation courses. The variety of activities, depth of teaching and size of the class has progressively increased through the years. As a result, the present location has been becoming increasingly insufficient to receive the larger audience.

After many rounds of discussion and debate, it has finally been decided that a new 8 storey building shall be erected on the present building site, with a total build-in area of construction of about 12,000 square feet.

As People’s Buddhism Study Society is a non-profit organization, funds raised from the past have mostly been used for the aforementioned activities. To accomplish the noble goal of constructing an ideal venue for all members of the society and to better spread the word of Buddha, your generosity is greatly needed.
